Antenna


There are a pair of antennae on the head of the mosquito. Only one is seen in this particular section through the mosquito's head. With H & E staining, the brain and nervous ganglion stain pink in the center and purple in the periphery.
At the base of each antenna is a sensory organ depicted in larger scale immediately below and even larger scale below that. In the figure immediately below, note the nerve, staining pink, leaving the base of the antenna.
